EGO

egoIf you have too much EGO….how can you have happiness? As a matter of fact, if you have too much EGO I think it will be hard to have gratitude, faith, love, forgiveness, or much of anything which will cause an abundance of happiness in your life! What you will have is a lot of YOU.

I once heard Wayne Dyer say EGO=Edging God Out! I agree! I believe the further we get from God the less capable we are in experiencing Gratitude,Forgiveness,Encouragement,Faith, and Love. When we are full of EGO we are empty of GOD. God=love….love is powerful.  So I guess people with huge EGO’s are powerless…..without God.

May you be filled with more God (creator, source…) and less EGO; so that you too can experience the transformational powers of Gratitude,Forgiveness,Encouragement,Faith, and Love.

Some days……. it doesn’t feel like enough!

notenoughEvery morning when I wake up, one of the first things I do is to say “thank you!”  I know the power a grateful heart has. I know how gratitude, forgiveness, and love can transform a life. I understand the power of love, of God.

It’s an easy task for me to ask each day ” what can I be grateful for today?” To ask “where will you use me today?” These questions are easy for me to ask, but it is not that way for a lot of people. And so I write, talk, and share, I am on a continuous journey to get the word out.

But some days, I feel like it’s not enough. I feel like I am just spinning my wheels…going nowhere!  So what can I do to reach more people? To actually get others to incorporate what I know into their lives? I know I am not the only one speaking out on this subject, we all have our own little part of the world to change! How do I make sure I change my part while I am still here on earth?

Knowing how to be grateful, forgiving, and loving, knowing the power these things have to transform a life, knowing it isn’t enough!  Knowledge -(minus) action = knowledge, plain and simple. You have knowledge. But if you want to change the world, you need to add action!  Knowledge+action=change !

I think….I am being impatient. All things happen in Gods time, not mine.  I know I’m headed in the right direction. I also talk about  faith, seems I need a dose of that right about now!

Dear Father,

Forgive me for my lack of faith! Help me to stay the course, to know that all will happen in  your time. That all is as it should be. To know that waking up each morning, saying “thank you” and asking ” how may I serve you?” is enough! And to know that you will lead me to the next step on my journey!  Thank you!! For another day to get it right!  ~Amen

I pray you know the power you have! The power to change your part of the world! Be grateful for another day to get it right!

Detour Ahead!

detourAbout 6 years ago I began my spiritual journey. I was on a path to discover my true self, learn to live the life I was intended to live. It has not been an easy journey, although it really hasn’t been as hard as one might expect. Or maybe that is just me?  I can remember back then wondering what God had in mind for me. I really had no clue!

When my “awakening” began I was a Christian and thought myself to be very connected to God.  I guess I should explain that my “awakening” was a classic “Dark Night of the Soul” experience!  I describe A Dark Night of the Soul as a personal crisis which is specifically meant to lead you closer to God.  And so this is what happened to me. Of course when it was happening I did not necessarily know that is what was happening. As a matter of fact if asked I would have said I was already pretty connected.  OH how that makes me laugh!

My point of today’s post is not to dissect my personal crisis, but to actually tell you that while you are on your personal journey you may, like me, take a few or many detours!  And that is OK.  People will look at others, when they go from trying one thing to the next, and call them “flighty” or “unsettled” or whatever they may say to describe a person who doesn’t know what they want to do.  But that is not what this is. When you are on your journey to find your purpose, you will take detours! If you don’t you are truly one of the fortunate ones.

I talk to people on their journey often, and one thing we all have in common is that it takes time, perseverance, and faith, to continue on your journey and not give up!! It can be so frustrating to think you have it figured out, that you have discovered the one thing that is going to help you reach your dreams, your purpose, only to find out a few months later that it wasn’t that at all. It happens.

The thing is, this is not a bad thing! It is growth! Each and every experience gets us, not only closer to living our purpose, but also closer to God. So don’t beat yourself up over trying different things! It is a process, it is a path, and like all paths yours may have detours!

Have faith that when the time is right, God will reveal it all to you! It will work out in His time and be for your ( and the worlds) highest and best good!
