Today I am Grateful For……Choices!

This is a word that comes up daily for me. Whether it is in talking with others, helping, listening to others or just chatting with myself! YES,I chat with myself! Don’t you?  :)

I am so grateful today for Choices! It has been a while since I wrote about my gratitude, specifically what I am grateful for today. Well here it is.

I woke up this morning in Sunny Florida and thanked the Lord that I am here, with my husband, enjoying a beautiful holiday!

After being thankful :)   I went in to get dressed where upon I realized  I may actually have put on a few pounds over the last few weeks of vacationing FUN….. this is when I became very thankful for choices!

Choices are something that is never far from  my mind. I think accepting our ability, my ability, to make choices is what lead to my biggest aha!  When I realized that there was nothing in this world that I had to let bother me or get me down, I really had to stop and think about that. I mean…really…that is HUGE! If you accept it for what it really means!

For me, today, what it means is that when I realized I have put on a few pounds I could get depressed about it, since I have worked hard to get the weight off, or I can just take care of it! Period!
And take care of it is what I am going to do! Because it is my choice to wallow and probably keep gaining or be grateful for my ability to choose to do something about it!!  Yay LIFE!

Oh and then there is the choice to let this weight gain cause a bitter nasty spirit today! Hmmmmmm…what do you think I will do!?  I am going to enjoy a beautiful day here in Florida with my husband and be really grateful that I am in 87 degree weather, enjoy it before I have to go back to the less than 70 degree weather!

Have a great day! And exercise your right to make choices!!  And make them good for you choices will you?!

Peace and Love,

Christine

Pleasure or Pain? What’s your focus?

Let’s think about those two words for a moment. Do you think we spend more time avoiding pain or choosing pleasure? I know I would like to think I would choose pleasure first. But stats shows us time and time again, people will go OUT of their way to avoid pain, even to the ninth degree before choosing pleasure.

Why is that?  Is there something that you want to do but haven’t? For example, some people want to lose weight? What’s stopping them/you/me?  Are we associating more pain or pleasure to loosing weight? It all comes down to what you choose to focus on in any given moment. Haven’t there been times when you were offered a piece of yummy chocolate cake or whatever your favorite food is, and you chose to say “NO”.   Of course you have! I have plenty of times. Because at that given moment, I felt more “pain” in eating the cake which would add pounds to my hips, then the “pleasure” of eating it. Therefore, I succeeded in that moment. It’s all about what feels stronger and what you focus on. Pain or pleasure.

Same goes for anything in your life. You make the choices. Trust me when I say, I don’t always make the right choices. We all are human. But I know when I focus on succeeding, obtaining my goal, then I’m unstoppable. That’s when I’m ALL IN. My focus is unbreakable. I can remember one summer I was so focused, I swam a mile a day, only drank water all the time, and only ate when I was hungry. You can imagine how fit I was then!!!

Focus on your desire / goal. When faced with a decision you will always choose what is stronger – either pain or pleasure. Choose that which makes you succeed! Stay focused – envision your goal already happening. You will always win when you understand your clear desire.

I’m SO Mad!

At the end of the day it is my choice to either A:Be MAD  or  B: Have a different perception of the situation.

My attitude is the only thing that is in my control.

Think about it……the object of my anger is not in control of me no matter how much I think it is. We grow up saying things like ” So and so made me so mad” OR ” So and so has ruined my day because she is such a brat” Or whatever…….. and our thoughts, such as these, are reinforced by the world around us.  Especially when, as children, our parents, friends,teachers, all come to our defense telling us how good we are and how bad the other person is. Now, I hope we all can see how I have really simplified that statement!! We all know that there is more to the situation than a parent or friend saying ” you are so perfect and they are so evil!” But for the sake of space I will assume everyone knows what I mean when I say “our thoughts are reinforced  by the world……”   {{SMILE}}

SO who can blame us when, as adults, we think that every Tom, Dick or Harry is responsible for our mood from day-to-day?  It is our societies way of thinking. As Dr. Wayne Dyer says…it is a MEME ! (A meme  is “an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.”)  Which means it does not have to be yours…it is your choice.

Because

Your thoughts, your ideas, your attitude, your perception….these are the things that you are in control of. These are your choices, each and every day.

SO choose thoughtfully, choose wisely!

But definitely choose for yourself!
